I found this website called Crowdspring. With Digital Soapbox I couldn’t quite figure out the imagery, the logo, the look and the graphics. So I went on this website and I posted a prize for $250. I put up a description about what I wanted. I wanted a black background. I wanted digital. I wanted red, black and white colors. I wanted the word digital soapbox. I wanted a tech kind of feeling.
I posted this whole thing and people just basically put up their entries. They made submissions into my contest. And for $250 I ended up getting 47 submissions. 47 different logos from all around the world. Everybody from professional graphic artists to janitors - people that don’t do this as a full time job. But everybody had a fair shot. I chose my winner. Love it. It was so valuable for me in terms of getting the juices flowing about what I wanted the look of this company to be.
